Indiana Action Coalition
Indiana’s organized effort to move forward the initiatives identified in the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM’s) 2010 Report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health.
The Indiana Action Coalition, along with action coalitions in every state, are supported through the Campaign for Action, an initiative of AARP, the AARP Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. State coalitions partner and collaborate with health, education, business and other leaders to promote better health through nursing.
Indiana Action Coalition is led by Kimberly Harper, MS, RN, FAAN, ICN CEO and Ann Zerr, MD, Medical Director, Indiana Medicaid. The work is carried out by committees composed of over 200 interprofessional healthcare leaders from across the state and has been fully integrated into the strategic initiatives of the Indiana Center for Nursing. These strategic initiatives address key issues that affect the culture of health in Indiana.
ICN is the home of the Indiana Action Coalition, working to ensure that nurses are well-positioned and equipped to create a culture of health, helping Indiana residents live the healthiest lives possible.
