Indiana Action Coalition

Indiana’s organized effort to move forward the initiatives identified in the National Academies of Science and Medicine 2021 Report, The Future of Nursing: 2020-2030.

The Indiana Action Coalition, along with action coalitions in every state, works in collaboration with the Campaign for Action, an initiative of AARP, the AARP Foundation, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. State coalitions partner with health, education, business, and other leaders to promote better health outcomes and health equity through nursing.

Indiana Action Coalition is led by Kimberly Harper, MS, RN, FAAN, ICN CEO and Ann Zerr, MD, Medical Director, Indiana Medicaid. The work is carried out by committees composed of over 200 interprofessional healthcare leaders from across the state and has been fully integrated into the strategic initiatives of the Indiana Center for Nursing. These strategic initiatives address key issues that affect the culture of health in Indiana.

ICN is the home of the Indiana Action Coalition, working to ensure that nurses are well-positioned and equipped to create a culture of health equity, helping Indiana residents live the healthiest lives possible.
